It’s 85 degrees out there, and in 2 days I *finally* get to have a couple days to just find whatever road I want and go see a thing. I’m fucking pumped. I can hardly keep a thought in my head. It’s why I moved to Arizona. There’s been a loose plan: Scout the southern part of the state before spring, the northern part in the summer, and whatever else in the fall.
Pack a tent and sleep where I will. Pick a spot on the map and ride toward it, and just. enjoy. the. ride. Twist a throttle and turn up the music. Find something along the way and explore it… The rest I’ll just figure out. God, I can’t fucking wait.
I’m figuring toward Bisbee and Tombstone.
Check out Cochise Stronghold at Sunsites. Ft Bowie Monument, Chiracahua National Monument, EDd Shifflin grave near Tombstone, also Johnny Ringo gravesite is near there..
Thanks man! I\’d planned on going to Johnny Ringo\’s grave and just ran out of time. Thanks for the recommendations — I need to go back down there, I noticed some of places you mentioned. Its killer country!
I spent a lot of time at Ft Huachuca over the years. Love that area of the country. The Copper Queen tour in Bisbee is def worth the time. You can camp at Cochise Stronghold and at Chiricahua Natl Monument. If you get to Ft Bowie it's a 1-2 mile hike to the old fort that is an easy walk. Behind the small museum they have at the fort there is a trail that goes to the hilltop behind the museum. That trail takes you back to the parking lot along a high ridgeline. Great desert views on the trail. I should be passing thru that area in late Oct. I'll give you a heads up when we ride thru. Maybe meet up somewhere…
