It’s also fucking awesome.
Got an invite to go to Sturgis, totally out of the blue a few weeks ago. I wasn’t expecting it. It came from a person I very much respect, but have never met. He’s made more than a few miles…
I appreciated the invite, but my first inclination was to say thank you, but decline. I’m in my late 50’s, and trying to catch up for years of building a few things, ignoring bad financial decisions and picking up those pieces. I am in the early stages of building something for myself again, and man, I think my life is starting to take a little shape here.
Time, it seems is my problem. I have a few things I’m trying to build for myself, and my family.
I hit up my buddy in Alaska. I’ve known him for almost 40 years. He’s a good soul, and turns out, he’s not afraid to put in some miles either. I gave him my best pitch, half thinking he’d decline, and I could continue to focus on things at hand.
He didn’t.
I’m glad he didn’t.
Turns out, We’re gonna do us some riding.
I have never been to Sturgis. I’ve been to a few big biker rallies, but never the biggest one. Looking forward to good company, seeing the Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore and the road in-between.
I’m fired up. Can’t wait to tell the person I’ve never met; Thank you.
