I feel a ride comin’ on

In about 2 weeks, I’m heading to Sturgis. I’m fairly fired up about it.

I’ve never been. Been to a few bike rallies, and quite frankly I’ve hated the traffic. Holding my clutch for 45 minutes to make a left turn is not my thing.

I got invited out of nowhere, from a friend I’ve never met. He hit me up and invited me.

My first instinct was no; I’m fairly busy right now, and wasn’t sure I could even pull it off. But for a few days the invitation stewed. I knew I had to go. I’ve never been to Sturgis. The guy who invited me, I respect a lot. he’s definitely made some miles and has seen a place or two.

So I hit up an old friend whom I’d recently re-united with. I’ve known this guy for a lot of years, and we have re-connected. We had made some miles together, He’d invited me up to Alaska and because of work constraints, I wasn’t able to go.

I was half expecting my Alaskan friend to say he couldn’t go. He is busy as well, and I thought it would be my excuse to not go at all.

It wasn’t.

Now I’m going to Sturgis. I’m glad he wasn’t my excuse.

I’ve never seen Mt Rushmore, Deadwood or the Black hills. I’ll buy some shwag, take some pictures and make some memories. It’s been on my bucket list for years. All the roads in between as well. A few miles are a good thing.

Looking forward to to hanging out with the friend I’ve never met. I should be one for the books. I want to thank him for hitting me up, out of nowhere.

It’s time to ride. Hell yes, I can’t wait.
