I was raised by wolves. Very kind, very nurturing wolves. I love riding to a town a just barely learned the name of on a Friday, making a decision at the intersection to get myself lost 1000 miles away from home on a Saturday, and trying to figure out how the hell I can get home on a Sunday. Just ride a place and see a thing.

The Easy Rider tour begins in a a little over a month.   I’m prepared as much as I can be, for not riding the route for several years.    I hope I remember it, and hope I do a good job telling the stories.      I know Easy Rider like the back of my hand, but I’m not sure who I’m talking to on this trip, and If I’ll over tell the stories.     I’m not sure if they just want to do the ride, or if they want to know the details.    I guess its a game time decision.    I’m good with that.   I work better on my feet and can shoot from the hip.      Either way, its been on my mind.     I’m preparing for whatever.

The soul of easy rider is the message.  And the RIDE!  A man went looking for America, and didn’t find it.

I can’t wait to go and make some new friends.    I hope I can make it fun for them 🙂

Last train to Clarksville. And Pastrami.

I fired up the smoker this morning.   Prepped-up-us some corned beef brisket, and when I’m done in several hours, that fucker will end up as sliced Pastrami.     Well, it’ll end up as the best Reuben sammitch you’ll ever eat.    At least that’s what I’m imagining.       The Monkees have been in my head all morning.

Did you know that that Monkees were the reason that Easy Rider even happened?      Monkee money financed the filming of Easy Rider.

More Snow.

More snow. Dying to fill my iPod, twist a throttle and find a town I’ve never seen, let alone know the name of. Don’t call my cell on that weekend. I won’t answer.

Some people like to just ride.     To the corner or to the store.   To the next next town.   for a few hours, or a few days.     To the lucky few, for a few weeks.    What it means to me I’m not sure it means to everyone else.

Life is a tough sumbitch.     It’s exactly as it should be.

I just like to ride.    It’s been snowing today.   Man, I need it.

kinda moved by this picture..

217450_150105715144232_1552156441_nYou can say this picture is political, but I’d like to think I  know better.    Read the history of Ronald Reagan.   He came from a different place.     from a different generation.   Cut his teeth through shallow Hollywood, yet saw the bullshit.   There he is, kissing that flag.     Maybe it was the time, but at the very least I gotta think it wasn’t.    He was revered because he was a man of principles.     Maybe a man from a different time.   You 49 percent, you can get the hell off my blog, or you can personally email me.      Would love to see obama kissing that flag.

Just a couple of videos.

I love history.   I’ve always loved history.     When you read history, it will come alive when you put yourself in it.     It happened to real people.      How would you react to this scenario, or that event?     Pick an event, and its got a guy, maybe just like you that lived through it.   I know its shaped my life and how I think.

I’m seeing the world changing.   I’m not so much scared for me, I’ll be fine.    I’m scared for my kids.

Just a couple of videos.    Such a great song….I don’t know if this was how my parents felt during the Cuban missile crisis, or how an old farmer felt in 1775, or watching sons argue at the dinner table in 1860 in the years that preluded a civil war.

But Shits a brewing.   I hate to see the divisions in this country right now.      I hope to think we’ll rise above it all.     I’m worried that the masses want something that is not good for us.

There is a better way.

Get in the fast lane grandma, the bingo game is ready to roll

I forgive em. I barely care. I don’t get excited about too many things…

All I know is hockey is back tomorrow. As much as I’d like to take a stand on the principle of the thing…. Owners shmoners/players shmayers. It ain’t my fight. Drop that puck boys, lets rumble. Is anyone else stoked?

Sid’s saucer passes.   Geno entering the zone, and slapping one into the twine.   Orpik laying the lumber.    Fleury flashing a glove or two.   Man, I’m pumped.

Winter Ramblings

Full blown winter here.   I plowed the driveway twice yesterday and once this morning.    Drove home up the canyon 25 in a 55.     I could see the road better with my lights off, in the driving snow.

I love what I do.   I feel most days, that I’m in full stride.     To be involved and with my nose to the grindstone, making good decisions and contributing….. man, that’s a good day, and they string together.     I’ve found my family.   Blood is thick, and they share common ground that you just can’t explain.   Eyes are on me here.   Bring it on.    Coming up here is good for me, and I can’t help but know that is good for my own family.

But man, I keep looking at weather.com for a break in the weather.    I almost took my bike to work at 2 degrees in the morning, down the canyon.    I’d have done it if I was positive the roads weren’t icy.     I wasnt.     Fuck it, I don’t care if I look like the Michelin man on a bike….. I’m jonesing to ride, and its only January.

Can’t wait for the Easy Rider tour in May with Eagle Rider.    Hopefully my stories are right, my company is sure and beyond that I’ll figure it out.

When is this snow over with.   I’m ready to ride.
