End of the road, for now.

Called harley davidson today.   to turn my bike in.   I can no longer afford it.

been thinking about starting another blog.   I no longer live anywhere near route 66, and within a few weeks will no longer have a bike.

rips my guts out.     I have loved riding, still love riding.     I’m doing this for my family.   if I was single, i’d fight more but I’m not.    I’ll have another one someday.    Maybe not the street glide, maybe not even a harley.

But it’s the right call.    Entertained it a lot of ways, but its not gonna happen.

  1. Sorry Alan. I look forward to your new blog. The pictures of your 4 state ride were great. Maybe do something about the area your at. Throughout the years Ive been w/o a motorcycle multiple times. I alway fell back on mountain biking and bicycling. Its cheap and its fun to camp while your riding. The family will probably like it too. Let us know what the new blog is so we can continue to follow.

  2. Hey Brother. Everything works on a cycle; sometimes you are up, other times, yer down. FWIW, IMHO you made a good choice. Always family first. You will ride again, I know it.

    Be good and be safe.

  3. Damn! For both of us!
You are just in Mourning. The sun will rise over Route 66 and we will be there to see it.

    ON HARLEYS!

    Ride on Zip!

  4. Damn Brother! End of the road just sounds so fuckin terminal.Detour perhaps. Has a little softer tone to it,because for folks like you and me,The road goes on forever and the party never ends!! I admire your passion and your determination,I admire your family values, your integrity and your ability to stay in there and fight the good fight, all the way through, even if it means"the end of the road"!! You are a good man,you are a real "Brother",and probably more important than anything else, you are an amazing "Daddy".When you have shown those in your life that you are commited,as you have, and shown them that you are willing to make whatever sacrifices that you must, which you have, and proven time and again that even in the face of adversity, you have the staying power that it takes to hold your family together, which you do,then my friend, you are,to be certain,a man to be admired! And you can bet that your riding days are not yet over.Keep your chin up Bro,and shrug off whatever bullshit gets you down, and as always, you will come out the other end of this okay.Bike or no bike, you will remain my Brother Pinky! My love to you and your Family!PEACE

    1. Detour for now, I\’ll get me another bike. You\’re the best of dudes Drifter. Much respect to you and you family my friend. Life is good!
